We traveled home to celebrate Lucy’s first birthday in June and spend a couple of weeks with our families. It was wonderful!

Our time in Omaha was filled with lots of time hanging at home and outside, Lucy’s first first trip to Target…

celebrating Lucy’s first birthday with waffles for breakfast and a terrible failed attempt at a homemade egg-less birthday cake…

a trip to the zoo with our friends Thomas and Josie…

and best of all, a wonderful garden party first birthday party!

We then flew from Omaha to Orlando and met all of the Shares at Disney World for a week.

We got a lot of sun, enjoyed the swimming pool at the resort, rode many rides, and enjoyed Lucy’s first trip to Disney! If you know the Shares family, you know there will be many more in her future. 😊 She took one whole nap in her stroller the whole week we were there, though there were many failed attempts. We ended up breaking up the days between the parks and hotel. It wasn’t easy (no trip with a baby is!), but it was worth it and we loved watching Lucy experience rides for the first time. She was definitely in awe!

I can’t believe how fast Lucy’s first year went! It is fun to look back and think about all we did together in that year, and even though she won’t remember any of it, we will, and we have lots of wonderful stories and photos to share with her when she is older. Year two already has many more adventures planned, and we can’t wait to share them with you!
