Hello there! I’m Hannah

I started writing here to share our family’s adventures as we are about to pack up our home and move to Italy with the military. I have always craved a creative outlet and hope to use this space to document our travels and life in a new country.

Rewind a bit, in 2017 I picked up my Midwest roots and moved to the Pacific Northwest where I spent three years with my now-husband (Michael) working as an accountant in Seattle. We married in December 2019 and a few months later made a cross-country trek to Georgia for a quick stint in the South. We are headed to Italy in January where we will spend the next few years learning a new culture and traveling the world! I plan to make some good friends and drink lots of wine along the way too.

A little more about me: I am working toward a masters degree in elementary education. I have wanted to teach littles for as long as I can remember. I make to-do lists for my to-do lists, disappoint myself every day that I am still not a morning person, and love to entertain. Oh, and I am happy to set aside every responsibility when I get lost in a good book. I kind of forgot that I enjoy writing too until I sat down to write this first post.

Thanks for stopping by – I hope you’ll stick around! xx

Hi Hannah and Michael! We are so happy you (and your luggage) arrived in Italy safely. While I was reading your post it reminded me of our trip to Italy, while pregnant with Charlie. Our luggage was delayed as well! I can’t believe you shipped your car! That’s crazy! So glad to hear about your adventures so far and looking forward to reading more. Take care you two. Love to you three! The Stich Family

    1. The Army pays for us to ship one car, so nice that we won’t have to buy one here! Michael is planning on biking to work so we should be fine with just the one car! We miss you guys! xoxo

  2. How exciting and scary it is to move to a new place, especially a new country. Having done it myself with a move to Germany with the AF, i say make the most of it and enjoy every opportunity you can when you get the chance. Enjoy a wonderful life together and I look forward to seeing more of your adventures!
